Sajeed A

About

I retell folklore in the present tense — and I'd rather catch fear and laughter than direct them.

Twenty-six years across Indian and international media. I joined MTV India as a trainee producer in 2000 and became a creative director there, creating and directing some of the country's earliest youth and genre formats — including India's first horror reality series. I built the video publishing engine at 101India from zero, and directed documentaries inside it that won at Montecatini and took a Special Jury Award at the World Wildlife Day Film Showcase for The Man Who Planted A Forest. I've delivered premium factual and documentary work to National Geographic, Discovery and Fremantle, and directed a supernatural feature from my own story that played the Fantastic Pavilion at Cannes' Marché du Film, released theatrically in India and the UAE, and streams in five languages across Prime Video, Aha and Apple TV.

Most of what I make is unscripted, because a real reaction can be caught but never staged. The craft is in building the conditions — and then getting out of the frame. Today I co-run SuperFlix Labs, an AI-native studio building original franchise IP for global co-production, with localised anime development in active outreach across India, Japan and Korea.
