Sajeed A is an award winning filmmaker whose work delves into the profound and daring dimensions of human narratives, as seen through the enchanting lens of magical realism.

His journey in the world of story telling began with MTV India, where he embarked as a trainee, igniting the spark that would lead to the creation of some of the most iconic and influential projects on MTV India. These projects seamlessly intertwined with the youth subculture in India, leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape.

A decade later he set up the video content vertical for 101India.com creating edgy, cool content about India. The platform was critical in giving a voice to the subculture and counterculture movement in the country.

With a deep-rooted connection to the world of music and nature he has lent his creative touch to numerous music videos and documentaries. The evocative portrayal of ‘The Man Who Planted A Forest,’ a story of one man’s decades-long mission to nurture a forest, received widespread acclaim, earning prestigious awards, including the Ekotop 2019 and Jackson Wild. The film’s impact endures, as it continues to garner recognition to this day.

His poetic interpretation of the life and music of ‘MC Kash’ from Kashmir struck a chord with audiences worldwide and garnered critical acclaim at various international film festivals.

Similarly his film ‘Monsoon’ a mythical portrayal of Indian monsoons, left an indelible mark at numerous festivals, ultimately claiming the Best Documentary Award at Montecatini in 2018.

Sajeed currently divides his time between Mumbai and Kochi where he directs warm and realistic brand content , inclusive and authentic documentaries and is busy with the post production of his debut feature film ‘Vadakkan’.
